Houston in August is miserable even on the beach in Galveston. The breeze off the water was strong, but there was nothing refreshing about hot, muggy wind blowing on you. The day was incredibly hot at well over 100 degrees and we waited as close to dusk as we could hoping to still have time to finish all the wardrobe changes. That did not work out as we hoped.
This was my last official shoot as a Houstonian and I wanted it to be everything I loved about Houston… that meant on the water.
“He’s a man on a mission to live life to the fullest. Every experience embraced with full heart and eyes wide open. He’s the modern man… a man of adventure.”
– Sandy Adams

I met Ulika about a year or so before this shoot and immediately liked him. He is always smiling and that wears off on everyone he meets. He is incredibly creative in his own right and has his own video film production company. If you want to hear more about Ulika listen >>HERE<< to the podcast interview I did with him.
Fun Fact: High Jump Record holder of Angola – 2.11 meters (Feb 2008)
This shoot had 2 objectives…
- An epic magazine styled shoot featuring a man
- To submit 2 images from this shoot to The Portrait Masters accreditation program of which I am a member. I don’t necessarily put a lot of stress into awards or ratings, but it does help me focus my creativity and reach a bit higher.
Good-bye Houston, until we meet again…
