A Star Is Born… | Houston Pet Photographer

She arrived in town late one summer evening.   She had flown in from Canada and upon arrival was quickly rushed through security and the long lines of people.  One could say she was getting the Kim Kardashian treatment 😉   Her new owner met the escort at the terminal and off they went into the hot, Houston night…  just a woman and a puppy.

Pascha was born in Canada and was just 8 weeks old (12 lbs) when she made her first flight to Houston.   She is a pure bred German Shepherd and yes she is completely black.   What you can not tell from the photos is that she is has the most incredibly soft fur I have ever felt – she is like the softest cotton ball ever.

Pascha’s new owner, Kathy, is a full-time nurse and full-time dog trainer.  She trains search and rescue dogs here in Houston, but she also trains pups at The Pet Palace near Ellington Field   Pascha has already started her training and will eventually compete in the sport called Schutzhund.

Kathy has two other German Shepherds, Qiefer age 5 and Justice age 6, both males.  Qiefer is certified with IPWDA (International Police Working Dog Assoc) in Air Scent and Disaster.  Both dogs train with local volunteer search and recovery, Alpha Search and Rescue.  Qiefer also competes in Schutzhund.  After the little photo shoot with Pascha, Qiefer came out to show off for me.  It was amazing to see the strength, speed and agility that this dog possesses.   Boy that dog can run!

Below are photos of Qiefer…

  1. She is already showing how smart she is… She is definitely one to watch. Great job sandy – pets aren’t the easiest to photograph!
