I opened the email and immediately smiled. This senior’s bubbly personality jumped right off the screen and enveloped me with sunshine! She had received a senior shoot with me as a gift from family friend and was so excited to get started immediately. I met Alexius and her mom later in the week and was shooting her senior images the very next week over spring break. It was a lovely day filled with sunshine and a slight breeze, to say the least. But, I love wind because it is an instant wind machine for my clients with long hair – and Alexius had a ton of it 🙂 We met in the late afternoon and laughed like silly girls as I tried to use my reflector and my camera with the wind. She burst into a fit of giggles the first time I told her NOT to smile. She laughed more when I brought out my old Hasselblad camera as a prop for her. Her mom arrived in the middle of our giggle session to act as my assistant and man did she work! Thanks Darlene for all the hard work and the fun time we all shared that afternoon. Alexius is a senior at Dobie High School, a National Honors Society student (even has a letterman jacket for it!) and a National French Honors Society student. She wants to make movies when she grows up 😉 And I totally think I will see her at the Oscars in a few short years!
Five facts about Alexius…
1. She watches entirely too many criminal tv shows
2. Her younger brother is her best friend
3. She plans on changing the world
4. She believes there should be a french fry franchise
5. She only gets nervous when something good is about to happen 🙂
