The warm sunny weather definitely set up a great start to the 2016 Bay Area Houston Go Red For Women VIP Kickoff event on Thurs, January 29. For the second year in a row, the party was hosted by Acadian Ambulance located in the old Webster Fire House #2 just off Nasa Rd. The evening’s program got underway at 6:30 with this year’s luncheon co-chairs, Tama Brantley and Darcy Whatley with Baywood Crossing Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, starting the evening off. Circle of Red chair, Brandy Gates, and Men Go Red chair, Santiago Mendoza, both took the opportunity to speak to the guests about the longtime work of the American Heart Association. Heart disease survivor, Marilou Gilmartin, the main speaker, shared her amazing and courageous story with the crowd. The wonderful food for the evening was provided by the Kemah Steak Company and Bubba’s Shrimp Palace. The wine for the evening was donated by Hallmark Hospice. The evening was not entirely serious as the main event was the official unveiling of this year’s Iconic Men Go Red (a.k.a the Heart Throbs) representatives and their official portraits (photographed by Sandy Adams). Dr. M. Shaun Holt, Brent Cockerham, Dr. Dipsu Patel and Dr. Safi Madain were all on hand to see their official portraits unveiled. Please join us Feb 19 from 11am till 2pm at South Shore Harbour Resort for the 2016 Bay Area Houston Go Red For Women Luncheon. Tickets can be purchased here.
