Today is National Go Red For Women day! A day to blitz the world that heart disease is the #1 killer of women in the United States. In fact, heart disease kills more women annually than all the cancers combined. I know full well the impact of heart disease as my mom struggles with it each day as well as so many of my family members. Chances are high that I too will develop heart issues unless I take control of my health now.
A new, local business in the Clear Lake community, Pinkberry, decided to make a stand and Go Red For Women on this very important day. The Clear Lake Pinkberry store is the only one in Houston, but they wanted to do more than simply wear red. The owners, Matthew and Meredith Emory, recently moved their family from New Orleans to Houston and are so excited to bring the Pinkberry brand to Houston. The Emory’s went the extra mile and developed a “special” blend of yogurt just for the month of February to celebrate Go Red For Women and are donating 20% of all purchases of this specific flavor to the Go Red For Women campaign.
So Houston go out and support the campaign against heart disease in women and treat yourself to a special frozen yogurt! Pinkberry is located in Baybrook Passage off of Bay Area Blvd at I-45.
Go Red For Women is an American Heart Association campaign.
