This handsome fella was diagnosed with Lymphoma Cancer in early September. I photographed him on September 26 at a park in the Clear Lake area of Houston. The cancer was starting to take its toll on him and since it was rather warm, I made sure we let Dude dictate how long he could pose. Dude was such a great model even as sick as he was. Sadly, Dude passed away just a short time after the shoot. Dude was rescued when he was very young and lived a long, eventful life. He will be deeply missed.
Lymphoma Cancer spreads very quickly once it hits the lymph nodes in the neck – dogs usually last 4-6 weeks. One in three dogs will be diagnosed with canine cancer of some kind and out of those diagnosed over 50% will die. To find out more and how you can help go to the National Canine Cancer Foundation.

Great shots sandy!
These great photographs capture the face and spirit of my dog, Dude. “Sometimes you pick your dog… some times your dog picks you.” is the quote from the movie ‘Red Dog’ that reminds me of him. Thank you.
