First the birthday girls are gorgeous, as is their little sister! Second, the family was so much fun and just a great family to work with!
I first met the dad when I photographed him last year as a Go Red For Women Heartthrob… he was The Cardiologist 😉 Then this past fall I was asked to photograph his twin daughters on their 16th birthday and I talked him and his wife into family portraits as well 😉
It was a very typical hot and muggy day in Houston Texas… actually very hot! I arrived at the family’s home just as the girls were getting their makeup and hair done. Due to the heat, I had to take the girls out for only a few minutes at a time. You literally started sweating just as you walk out the door! We decided to shoot half the session in traditional clothing and the second half in regular American clothing. From a photographer’s perspective clothing can either make an image or hurt an image, but I knew immediately that the colors of the traditional clothing would knock it out of the park. I used the background of the pool area with the lush vegetation to highlight the clothing.
It was way too soon when all the twins’ friends showed up and all the girls were off in a fabulous limo to drive them around downtown Houston. The proud parents and sister stood in the driveway and watched as the limo drove off. All in all a lovely afternoon with the most lovely family 🙂
