Today is National Pet Day so this past Saturday, Lexus of Clear Lake, sponsored a community event in support of Houston SPCA. Several vendors came out to help with the event – Bay Glen Animal Hospital, The Pet Palace and Doody Calls of Houston. Clients and the community came out in full support. Many folks photographed their pups in a beautiful Lexus, while others came alone and left with new pets.
“A dog is not a thing. A thing is replaceable. A dog is not. A thing is disposable. A dog is not. A thing doesn’t have a heart. A dog’s heart is bigger than any “thing” you can ever own.”
― Elizabeth Parker, Paw Prints in the Sand
Celebrity pet lifestyle expert and animal welfare advocate Colleen Paige founded National Pet Day to raise awareness about the importance of pet adoption. The motto of the holiday is “Don’t shop! Adopt!” and it is sponsored by the Animal Miracle Foundation, whose mission is to help animals in shelters find forever homes. [www.punchbowl.com]
Please remember, Adopt Don’t Shop – contact the Houston SPCA for more information on adoptions or to report animal abuse.
