Today is #NationalWearRed and kicks off #NationalHeartMonth which brings a strong focus on the leading cause of death in women, in fact more women die of heart disease than ALL forms of cancer combined. Yet, 80% of those deaths could have likely been prevented by a change in health.

Do you know your heart disease risk? High blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking, diabetes, obesity, and physical inactivity each increase your risk for heart disease. But, you can reduce your risks.

I am so proud to be a volunteer with the American Heart Association since 2000. In 2016, my mom lost her 20 year battle with heart disease. She is why I Go Red every year and donate my services to AHA first in Memphis and now in Houston.
Go Red for Women® is the American Heart Association’s global initiative to end heart disease and stroke in women. Launched in 2004 to close the gap in awareness, Go Red quickly expanded into a worldwide movement dedicated to removing the barriers women face to achieving good health and well being.
